New Jersey Domestic Violence Lawyers: Mary Pat Christie and Verizon Announce Domestic Violence Awareness Campaign in Hazlet

New Jersey First Lady Mary Pat Christie is the face of a new campaign aimed to help prevent, and treat, domestic violence. The campaign is funded by $50,000 from the Verizon Wireless Foundation, in partnership with the New Jersey Coalition for Battered Women, and the New Jersey Department of Children and Families. Jane Shivas, interim executive director for the New Jersey Coalition for Battered Women, stated, “This grant from Verizon helps us get out into the community for a statewide public awareness campaign, and helps victims to know that they are not alone, they are not at fault for what happened to them (and) that there’s a place that they can go and be safe.”
The initiative will include improving websites, developing domestic violence awareness and prevention brochures and producing a video public service announcement, featuring Christie, to promote New Jersey’s domestic violence services for victims, survivors and their families. Full article.
