Joseph Ross is licensed to practice law in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and focuses his practice on medical malpractice defense and complex civil litigation.
Joseph has broad experience representing insurers, professionals, business owners, healthcare providers, and contractors in matters involving professional liability, insurance coverage, bad faith, personal injury, construction defects, product liability, premises liability, and motor vehicle accidents. His professional liability experience includes claims involving medical malpractice, skilled nursing facilities, errors and omissions, directors and officers, and professional licensing boards.
Joseph advises clients on policy interpretation, risk transfer, malpractice issues, and disputes involving primary, excess, and umbrella insurance policies. He manages litigation from inception through discovery, motion practice, oral argument, trial preparation, and appeal. Joseph has appeared in state and federal courts throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania and has second-chair trial experience.
Before returning to private practice, Joseph served as an Attorney Regulatory Officer and Open Public Records Act custodian for the New Jersey Department of Children and Families. He also served as the Department’s Ethics Liaison to the New Jersey State Ethics Commission and helped develop departmental policies in collaboration with government stakeholders.
Earlier in his career, Joseph served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Gregory H. Chelak and the Honorable Joseph F. Kameen in the Pike County Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania. During his clerkship, he researched and drafted judicial opinions and assisted the court with discovery disputes and other complex legal matters.
Joseph received his Juris Doctor from Temple University Beasley School of Law, where he received an alumni scholarship and served as Vice President of the Student Bar Association. While attending law school, Joseph worked full-time as a litigation paralegal. He received his Bachelor of Arts in English from Saint Joseph’s University, where he was named to the Dean’s List.
