Lyons & Associates, P.C. is pleased to announce the promotion of Jessica M. DeYoung, Esq. to Senior Associate.
Jessica is admitted to practice law in both New Jersey and New York and focuses her practice exclusively on matrimonial and family law matters. She represents clients throughout New Jersey in a wide range of complex family law issues, including high-asset divorces, complex custody and parenting time disputes, pendente lite and post-judgment motions, and prenuptial agreements. Jessica also assists individuals seeking legal name changes for personal, religious, or marital reasons.
Jessica has quickly distinguished herself through her sharp legal acumen, unwavering compassion, and professional integrity of the highest caliber, and a dedicated advocate for clients navigating some of the most challenging moments in their lives. The firm routinely receives communications from clients and opposing counsel alike, expressing appreciation for her professionalism, diligence, and ability to navigate complex legal issues with clarity and composure. Her promotion reflects her commitment to providing thoughtful legal counsel and strong advocacy in family law matters.
Most recently, Jessica was named to Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America for 2026 for her work in Family Law. She has also been selected by New Jersey Super Lawyers to the Rising Stars list for Family Law in 2024 and 2025, an honor reserved for attorneys who demonstrate excellence in their field and are recognized by their peers for professional achievement.
Before joining Lyons & Associates, Jessica served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Rudolph A. Filko, A.J.S.C., Assignment Judge of the Passaic County Superior Court (then Presiding Judge of the Chancery Division, Family Part). During her clerkship, she assisted the Court with a variety of family law matters, including post-judgment proceedings and juvenile cases, and mediated non-dissolution matters involving custody and parenting disputes.
Jessica earned her Juris Doctor, with honors, from Roger Williams University School of Law. While in law school, she served as a student attorney with the Immigration Clinic, representing individuals seeking asylum in the United States and children pursuing special immigrant juvenile status. She also worked with Rhode Island Legal Services, assisting elderly clients with matters related to Medicare and nursing home care, and interned with the Rhode Island Commission for Human Rights.
Jessica received her undergraduate degree in Justice Studies from Montclair State University, graduating with high honors, along with minors in Criminology and Pre-Law.
