Lyons & Associates, P.C. Attorneys Selected to 2022 Super Lawyers and Rising Stars Lists

Lyons & Associates, P.C. is proud to announce that six of its attorneys have been named to the 2022 New Jersey Super Lawyers and Rising Stars lists. Theresa A. Lyons was named to the Super Lawyers list along with David F. Salvaggio and Eric Marcy. Attorneys William P. Lemega, Marissa A. Del Mauro, and Joanna R. Adu were all selected to the 2022 Rising Stars list.

Theresa A. Lyons is a certified matrimonial attorney, is the managing partner of the firm, and also holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work. In addition to being named multiple times in the past by Super Lawyers, Theresa is also a best-selling author who has been honored by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys as one of the “top 10 best female attorneys” and been featured in over 250 news and media outlets across the planet. Theresa is licensed to practice law in the New Jersey State Court, the New Jersey Federal Court, and the United States Supreme Court. She has served on the Board of Trustees for multiple organizations and was recently appointed to the New Jersey Supreme Court board on Continuing Legal Education.

David F. Salvaggio is an experienced family law attorney and serves as senior counsel of the firm. His legal career has surpassed 40 years, and he has handled thousands of cases in all aspects of family law, real estate law, and wills trust and estates. David earned his Juris Doctor from Rutgers Law School and is admitted to practice law in New Jersey. He is a past president and a current executive board member of the New Jersey Collaborative Law Group. He played a key role in the passage of the New Jersey Family Collaborative Law Act in 2014.

Eric Marcy is a former Deputy Attorney General for the New Jersey Division of Criminal Justice. As a top-rated criminal defense attorney, Eric serves of counsel as Chair of the Criminal, Administrative Law and Professional Licensing Group at the firm. He handles a wide range of criminal, civil, and administration litigation matters, including all aspects of state and federal criminal defense litigation. Eric was selected to the Super Lawyers list from 2006 to 2009 and each consecutive year since 2017. He earned his Juris Doctor from Seton Hall University School of Law and is admitted to practice law in New Jersey, the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He is a member of the New Jersey Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

William P. Lemega is a certified matrimonial attorney and the principal and managing partner for the firm’s Morristown office. He is a skilled trial attorney who handles complex family law matters. William has been selected to the Rising Stars list for the practice area of family law each consecutive year since 2018. William earned his Juris Doctor from New England Law – Boston. He is admitted to practice law in New Jersey and the U.S. District Court, District of New Jersey. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the New Jersey Bar Association, the Morris County Bar Association, the Morris County Chamber of Commerce. In 2018, the New Jersey Supreme Court appointed William to the District Ethics Committee for Hunterdon County, Somerset County, and Warren County.

Marissa A. Del Mauro is a certified matrimony attorney, a senior associate of Lyons & Associates, P.C., and serves on the firm’s Leadership Team coordinating all billing and compensation matters. She represents clients in all aspects of family law matters and regularly mediates custody, parenting time, and child support for non-dissolution cases. Marissa has been selected to the Rising Stars list each consecutive year since 2019 for her work in family law. Marissa earned her Juris Doctor from Western New England University School of Law and is admitted to practice law in New Jersey and the U.S. District Court, District of New Jersey. She is also a volunteer panelist for the Early Settlement Panel program in Somerset County, helping lawyers and litigants settle their matters without having to go to trial.

Joanna R. Adu is a senior associate at the firm and chairs the Trusts, Estates, and Finance Practice Group. She handles estate planning and family law matters, including guardianships and families who have children with special needs. Joanna has been named to the Rising Stars list each year since 2020 for her work in estate planning and probate law. She earned her Juris Doctor from Seattle University School of Law, enjoyed a judicial clerkship in New Jersey Appellate Courts, and is licensed to practice law in New Jersey and the U.S. District Court, District of New Jersey. She is a member of the New Jersey Association of Justice Matrimonial Law Committee, the American Bar Association, the National Bar Association, the New Jersey State Bar Association, the Garden State Bar Association, and the Association of Black Women Lawyers.

Both Super Lawyers and Rising Stars use a thorough selection process to choose attorneys in over 70 different practice areas.
