Famed quarterback Tom Brady and his supermodel-turned-activist wife Gisele Bündchen have each hired divorce lawyers. After months of tension that resulted in the pair living separately, Brady and Bündchen have reportedly retained attorneys to determine how their assets would be divided should they move forward with a divorce.

Married since 2009, Brady and Bündchen own multiple pieces of property in several states including Florida, New York, Montana, and Costa Rica. They also have two children together: a 14-year-old son and a 9-year-old daughter. Custody is expected to be a topic of mediation.

Reports suggest that the rift between Brady and Bündchen is largely due to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback’s decision to return for a 23rd season with the NFL, after announcing his retirement from football in February. Brady’s retirement lasted a mere 40 days, which is said to have disappointed Bündchen, who was looking forward to more family time with Brady.
