David F. Salvaggio
New Jersey Family Law and Divorce Lawyer
Lyons & Associates, P.C. is honored that David Salvaggio chose to continue his very successful family law practice by joining its team of professionals in September 2018 as Senior Counsel.
David received his law degree from Rutgers Law School, where he was an editor of the Rutgers Law Review. After being selected for and completing a judicial clerkship for the Assignment Judge in Somerset County, David embarked upon a legal career that has now encompassed over 40 years.
David has been instrumental in developing alternatives to traditional litigation as a means of resolving legal disputes in Family Law matters. He is a Past President and a current Executive Board member of the New Jersey Collaborative Law Group and played a key role in the passage of the New Jersey Family Collaborative Law Act in 2014. Collaborative Divorce emphasizes communication and cooperation, rather than conflict, and has as its goal a resolution of all issues which best meets each party’s individual needs as well as the needs of their children, without the intervention of the court system.
Through Divorce Mediation, David also helps divorcing couples determine their own destiny, rather than suffer the trauma and expense of seemingly endless litigation.
David truly embodies the philosophy: “Do one thing and do it well.” He has handled thousands of cases in his career as a New Jersey Family Law and Divorce Lawyer, including difficult divorces involving high net worth individuals, protracted custody disputes and complicated equitable distribution issues. He is also extremely learned in domestic violence cases, which often are the most difficult to solve and require immediate and expert attention.
In 2015 and 2022, Mr. Salvaggio was selected to be included on the list of New Jersey Super Lawyers for Family Law.
The awards and accolades displayed on this website were issued to the attorneys, or the entire law firm by the respective providers of these honors.
