David F. Salvaggio

Senior Counsel

Estate, Medicaid Planning and Alternative Dispute Resolution Lawyer

Senior Counsel

Lyons & Associates, P.C. was truly honored that David Salvaggio chose to join its team of professionals as Senior Counsel in September 2018, thereby adding his vast experience and many skills to the firm’s already premier group of attorneys.

Mr. Salvaggio received his law degree from Rutgers Law School, where he was selected to be a member of the prestigious Rutgers Law Review.

David provides the firm with the ability to offer its Estate clients the added dimension of Medicaid Planning, which is a way to protect clients legally and ethically from the very real possibility of having to pay out-of-pocket for the enormous expenses incident to long-term care. Medicaid, unlike Medicare, has an excellent long-term care benefit, which helps people supplement their lifestyle with their own assets. With Mr. Salvaggio’s help, they can improve the quality of their life while alive and make it more likely that they will have something to pass onto their heirs after they pass away.

Mr. Salvaggio has also been instrumental in developing alternatives to traditional litigation as a means of resolving legal disputes in Family Law matters. He is the President of the New Jersey Collaborative Law Group and played a key role in the passage of the New Jersey Family Collaborative Law Act in 2014. Collaborative Divorce emphasizes communication and cooperation, rather than conflict, and has as its goal a resolution of all issues which best meets each party’s individual needs as well as the needs of their children, without the intervention of the court system.

Through Divorce Mediation, David also helps divorcing couples determine their own destiny, rather than suffer the trauma and expense of seemingly endless litigation.

Mr. Salvaggio was selected to the New Jersey Super Lawyers list in 2022 & 2023
